Regulations for businesses located within wellfields have recently changed. In 2016, a new zoning ordinance, called IndyReZone was established that created new regulations for development inside a wellfield. In 2017, a new health code from the Marion County Public Health Department created new regulations for business operations within wellfields.
As part of our mission, we provide education to businesses located within wellfields to help comply with these regulations, focusing on best management practices (BMPs) to handle chemicals, waste, liquids, or other substances that could contaminate groundwater.
