New Waste Disposal Resources

April 17, 2019

MCWEC recently added a new page featuring waste disposal information: https://mcwec.org/businesses/waste-disposal/. Check it out for various options for safely disposing of waste materials.

Please note: MCWEC does not provide waste disposal services itself – we can only point you in the direction of services that do!

For small volumes from households within Marion County, there is the City of Indianapolis ToxDrop program. You can dispose of 20 gallons of liquid waste or 75 pounds of solid waste per ToxDrop visit.

Did you know that many auto parts stores will accept small volumes of used oil and batteries for recycling? Call your local parts supply store and ask for details. For larger volumes of oil, transmission and antifreeze fluids, MCWEC has compiled a handy list of a number of companies that can perform this task.

For materials that may be classed as hazardous waste, there are several companies available to help – check out our Hazardous Waste page for suggestions.

Free, Confidential Assessments

MCWEC representatives can help your business identify site specific ways to limit potential for groundwater contamination. You may receive free spill containment supplies in return. These assessments are free and intended to ensure businesses are operating in ways protective to groundwater; observations are NOT reported to any regulatory agencies.
