In light of the expansion of data centers around the country, the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) is hosting a brief webinar on the challenges and opportunities for data centers to protect groundwater quality and quantity.
Join Jeff Davis, PE, Certified Groundwater Profession and Bill Alley, PhD, NGWA Director of Science and Technology on Thursday, September 17 at 1pm for a 30 minute overview of the NGWA’s newly released position paper on data centers and groundwater resources.
This session will highlight NGWA’s core position that data center development must protect groundwater quality and quantity, prioritize transparency in water and energy use, and incorporate best available technologies to reduce or eliminate consumptive water use. Attendees will learn about recommended planning and reporting criteria, the importance of hydrogeologic assessments, and the role of innovative solutions such as geothermal systems in reducing water demand.
