The Marion County Wellfield Education Corporation (MCWEC) has launched its public education campaign on a new platform—two IndyGo buses—to encourage community involvement in protecting Indianapolis’ groundwater resources and drinking water supply.
MCWEC has contracted Mundell & Associates environmental consulting firm to support program development, including the design and implementation of the IndyGo bus campaign and related outreach materials.
Beginning June 1 and running through June 28, two IndyGo buses traveling throughout Indianapolis will feature MCWEC’s central message:
“Groundwater is YOUR drinking water — YOU can help protect it!”
The ad then directs people the MCWEC’s LinkTree for more information: https://linktr.ee/MCWellfieldEducationCorp
The campaign is designed to increase public awareness about the importance of groundwater protection and inspire residents, businesses, and organizations to take simple actions that help safeguard local water resources for future generations.
In addition to providing information on disposing household hazardous waste, electronic waste and old medications, the campaign encourages businesses located in any of Marion County’s seven wellfield protection areas to reach out for free waste management consultations.
MCWEC encourages utility partners, community organizations, and residents to help spread the message by sharing campaign photos and social media posts throughout June.
