2024 Indianapolis Drinking Water Reports now available

June 18, 2025

For public water systems around the country, quality and safety is a key focus. Each year public water utilities must publish and submit a special water quality report to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) called the “Consumer Confidence Report” which contains information about specific substances found in the water delivered to customers.

Drinking water may reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some contaminants and the presence of contaminants does not necessarily pose a health risk. Each contaminant in the Consumer Confidence Reports is listed with a contaminant level goal (the level of contaminant below which there is no known or expected risk to human health), the highest level of contaminant allowed, and the level of the sampling done by the utility.

Other important information you can find in the reports includes where the drinking water comes from (river, lake, groundwater, etc).

Utilities invest heavily in their processes, measurement systems, and distribution to ensure safe drinking water for all. In the Indianapolis area, the public drinking water suppliers are Citizens Energy Group. the City of Lawrence, Speedway Water Works.

As of June 18, 2025, all 2024 reports for Marion county have been published. Use the links below to access the current and historical reports.
