Save the date: Earth Day Indiana festival is back! Join the Marion County Wellfield Education Corporation (MCWEC) and over 100 exhibitors and FREE family friendly activities on May 31 at Garfield Park.
During the event MCWEC will be demonstrating a live drinking water contamination model and highlighting the importance of pollution prevention in our city’s Wellfield Protection Areas (also known as Wellfields or Drinking Water Protection Areas).
Check out the map now or at the festival to see if your home or business is in a Wellfield Protection Area and have a chance to chat with a drinking water protection specialist about toxic waste disposal and free, confidential assessments for businesses.
Be sure to check out the Friday night kick-off performance of Dreamland, an original play written and produced by React, a local group creating original theatre with youth of Indianapolis. Show starts at 6pm at the MacAllister Amphitheater in Garfield Park.
Other highlights of the festival include STEM City, hosted by the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, SwapSesh, a free clothing and shoe swap and Nine 13 sports, a “Kids Riding Bikes” station.
Complete your day with a stop at the electronics recycling station, located in the Providence Cristo Rey High School parking lot, nearby at 2717 S. East St.
