Post-Holiday Recycling Event on January 22

January 6, 2022

The Indianapolis Office of Sustainability (Sustain Indy) & RecycleForce are hosting the annual post-holiday electronics recycling event on Saturday, January 22 at Garfield Park from 9am-2pm. Attendees should remain in their cars and wear a face covering when interacting with staff members. (More info about where to go in the park)

This event is FREE and great way to ensure your unused, outdated, and/or broken electronics are disposed of properly and kept out of our land and water. Additionally (new this year) IMPD officers will be present to receive expired or unused prescription medications.

Non-electronic materials normally collected during Saturday ToxDrop events will NOT be accepted during this event. As a general rule of thumb, acceptable electronics include anything with a cord attached, plus the following:

  • Cell phones
  • Circuit boards
  • Computers / Laptops
  • External disk drives
  • External tape drive
  • Hard drives
  • Keyboards, Mouse, Joy sticks
  • Microphones
  • Modems
  • PC cards
  • PC speakers
  • Tablets
  • Uninterrupted power supply batteries
  • USB drives

If you can’t make this event, unwanted electronics can also be recycled on Saturdays at regular ToxDrop times. For more information about ToxDrop locations and times, visit https://www.indy.gov/activity/hazardous-waste-dropoff-sites.
