Join local community leaders and neighbors at the White River Vision Plan Unveiling on June 3, 2019 at 9am in the Indianapolis Arts Center.
Starting in early 2018, local officials, consulting agencies and organizations conducted surveys, town-hall meetings, and outreach on social media and at community events to help prioritize potential focus areas for a community-drive plan to revitalize and preserve the White River.
The plan will focus on these themes:
REVEAL HISTORY – The unique moments in central Indiana White River history
GET OUTDOORS – The attractions that bring people to the river year-round
EXPERIENCE NATURE – The natural systems and wildlife of the river
CONNECT COMMUNITIES – The existing access points to the White River and the character of the trail system
EXPRESS OUR IDENTITY – Our changing region and river neighborhoods
The unveiling kicks off a week of activities that include cleanups along various points of the river, food and drink specials at river-side restaurants, and film and music events.
