What Can Be Found In An Uncapped Well?

March 7, 2019

Professional Engineer Ed Butts from 4B Engineering & Consulting in Salem, Oregon recounts several stories of critters and even a tree found in uncapped water wells during his 40 year career.

Many formerly used wells in the 1970’s were left without any wellhead protection whatsoever and when a cover was placed over the top of an unused well it was often a 5-gallon bucket placed upside down!

His funny and down to earth stories highlight the importance of proper wellhead protection!
