Drinking Water Week

May 9, 2018

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) is participating in this year’s Drinking Water Week – May 6th to 12th! The purpose of this week is to recognize the vital role water plays in everyone’s daily lives.

IDEM encourages every Hoosier to protect drinking water to assure future generations have access to the same safe and sustainable water supply that we use every day.

IDEM encourages you to participate in drinking water week by following labelled instructions on cleaners, fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals; never disposing of chemicals down a drain or into a sewer; maintaining septic systems, and reporting spills and pollution to IDEM’s spill line at (888) 233-7745.

Let’s enjoy Indianapolis’ great water and protect our groundwater for the future!
