Going Green in the Grove Wrap Up

April 30, 2018

On Saturday April 28th, MCWEC attended the ‘Going Green in the Grove’ event at Hornet Park Community Center in Beech Grove. This event was in celebration of Arbor Day and MCWEC was present to help inform the public about the groundwater resources of Marion County.

Rachel Walker hosted a table with a display poster of Marion County wellfields and demonstrated the basics of groundwater movement using the groundwater model on loan from the Professional Geologists of Indiana. MCWEC handed out plantable ‘water drops’ made of biodegradable paper with embedded wildflower seeds. These ‘water drops’ also provided attendants with the MCWEC website address for them to explore more information about protecting our groundwater.
