Who’s in Our Wellfields? Ft. Harrison State Park

July 10, 2017

Did you know that one of Indiana’s best state parks is located within a wellfield? Ft. Harrison State Park in Lawrence is located within the Lawrence Wellfield! All of the drinking water for the city of Lawrence (an excluded city of Indianapolis) comes from groundwater, which includes groundwater pulled from underneath the state park!

If you have a chance, go check out this great park and get some hiking, biking, or walking on some of the great trails. While you are out there, take a moment to think about the water underneath your feet!
